I've checked the oil pressure switch and it's OK. The only brushes ( 2 of them) I can find are at then end of the generator. The resitance between the two commutators is about 22ohms, and the brushes themselves are OK, although I do not pick up any AC/DC voltage from them, even though the wires are also OK.

Are these supposed to be 12V ? - At one point thought I was picking up 10V DC from them, but then the next time I started up there was nothing again. Also if I give the coil I direct supply the engine keeps running, but I obviously don't want to do that.

Any help greatly appreciated.
