Re: Onan Emerald II (BGE) starts but stops when button released |

: : I've checked the oil pressure switch and it's OK. The only brushes ( 2 of them) I can find are at then end of the generator. The resitance between the two commutators is about 22ohms, and the brushes themselves are OK, although I do not pick up any AC/DC voltage from them, even though the wires are also OK.
: : Are these supposed to be 12V ? - At one point thought I was picking up 10V DC from them, but then the next time I started up there was nothing again. Also if I give the coil I direct supply the engine keeps running, but I obviously don't want to do that.
: : Any help greatly appreciated.

: On an Onan be sure to mention the complete model number. If it has an electronic voltage regulator that could be the problem,it's in the compt. behind the starter switch. If not more than likely the starter pc board behind the switch. There is some more info at the link in the forum area.
