Onan Marquee 5000 - rear plug keeps sooting

Model 5BGMFA26105D

After a short time of running, the rear plug on the generator soots up. The front one is fine, so I can't adjust the mixture, otherwise the front one will be weak.

Currently I cannot start it, but it used to run for a few hours, then it would go 'lumpy/smokey' then stall. Its' behaviour is erractic in that sometimes it might start and be OK for a while, others it might start and the run lumpy, or it may not start at all.

Its had a new coil, carbs have been set, had new voltage regulator, new plugs (regularly !).

Can anyone help ?
