: Model 5BGMFA26105D

: After a short time of running, the rear plug on the generator soots up. The front one is fine, so I can't adjust the mixture, otherwise the front one will be weak.

: Currently I cannot start it, but it used to run for a few hours, then it would go 'lumpy/smokey' then stall. Its' behaviour is erractic in that sometimes it might start and be OK for a while, others it might start and the run lumpy, or it may not start at all.

: Its had a new coil, carbs have been set, had new voltage regulator, new plugs (regularly !).

: Can anyone help ?

Darren, I would check out the complete high voltage ignition system. I don't think it is a fuel problem. start with the plug and work your way back. You said you replaced the plugs, but I have bought two new plugs that would not fire on a plug tester. Make sure both plug wires have about the same resistance. You could have a carbon arc in the dist. cap. I'll bet you find the problem.
