: I'm comparing the Terry Dakota 726K (ultralite construction) to the Terry 26K (conventional construction). The ultralite has fiberglass/foam sandwich construction with aluminum frame, while the conventional has wood frame/aluminum skin construction. There is a significant weight wavings with the ultralite. What is the disadvantage of the ultralite construction. There must be some disadvantage, or all trailers would be made that way. Any comments?

We have a 2001 Keystone Bobcat 277EBS with fiberglass sides. It is in the shop even as I type waiting for the new front panel to be replaced. This unit has a slide that they replaced a seal on so we will no longer see daylight at the corners when it is pulled in. There have been several things like this pop up in the 5 months we have owned it but the dealer has always fixed it with no problem or complaint.

Our trailor is 29 feet long 8 feet wide 5080 pounds dry and has ducted air. We love everything but the small bathroom, a well placed curtain has even cured that.

Check out www.camperclinic.com and you can see floorplans and specs for the Bobcat and many others.
