That's right. Sounds strange but that's the way we tow our 98 GC. You just need to understand that the transmission can be damaged if left in neutral because it will turn and cause a pump to be damaged. Don't let the word "Park" bother you and everything will be ok. Just remember that the transfer case is in neutral, disconnected from the wheels, when you tow and Park has no effect on them turning freely.
Also, be very sure you have the ignition in the unlocked "on" postion so that the steering wheel will not lock when you go around the first corner you come to. Very hard on tires to pull a car thats trying to turn. Good luck. We love pulling our Jeep. If fact I think our motor home handles better with it back there.
